Our Gas Gun consisted of a pressure vessel of 100 bar capacity, a high speed solenoid valve and a 6 m long barrel. It can fire various types of projectiles with 2-20 mm diameter and 2-50 gr weight up to 500 m/s. Bullet exit velocity is precisely measured by a high speed camera through a newly-developed shadowing technique.

Low velocity impact tests up to 2.5 m/s speed can be carried out by this machine. The weight of the impactor can be changed within 5 to 50 Kg. Various tests such as penetration, compression and crush tests can be accomplished.

A universal test machine with a capacity of 300 KN load cell is available in the laboratory for testing the mechanical properties of materials or structures such as: tensile, compression, bending, shearing, tearing, peeling, etc., in quasi static loading.
